Hello Everyone! Thanks to my brother Konnor for helping me out last month... I have been very busy! This month the pump of the month is the Wayne Roman Column or Greek Column gas pump! These pumps have a sweet art deco design... literally look like a greek column from Greece. These are very desirable pumps. It is definitely one on my bucketlist!!

-Wayne 490: 1923-24. Original cost was $169. Greek Column, 10 gallon with a different top than the others.
-Wayne 491: 1923, $169 cost. 10 gallon air operated and hand operated versions.
-Wayne 491-F: 5 gallon version of the 491.
-Wayne 492: 1923. $215 cost originally. Hand crank.
-Wayne 492-F was a 5 gallon version of the 492.

I hope everyone can share their information and pictures about these awesome pumps! Here's to a great July!

Thanks again Braden for keeping this going . I am very fortunate to have 3 of the 492s one has been perfectly restored by my friend the late Kent Swensen , the other 2 have been together since the 1920s and were pulled out of a garage 30 years ago in a small town in south western Utah . They are both complete and in excellent condition . Happy 4th to everyone . Peter

I shot this Roman in white pearl and hand pinstriped in gold. The pearl pops
when you have a light on it! Anybody have the cylinder lock that is
missing for sale??

Eric

It is amazing the amount of prep time and effort it takes on a Roman to get all
the defects out before you paint due to all the detail in the fluted column and castings!!

Probably my sons and my favorite picture. His 1st road trip, the farmer, his dog in which we had to watch do tricks for over 2 hrs, the pump and my son. We unloaded my small B-2000 mazda pickup and loaded this in the bottom. Could not make it over 50 mph going home with the little truck full of pumps and stuff. My son now will be 39 coming up. What a day that was for sure. I was told that it was originally a Rainbow gas company station that had this pump.

Eric , that pump is simply right on the money including the pin striping lines. Good call. Each one of the pumps so far is just great with no wrong way of doing it I believe.

Here’s one of my Romans in it’s original patina. I don’t want to ruin 100 years of use. It just looks honest and real for restoration. Everything is original…even the lock and key.
