I was doing one of my daily Ebay checks and this globe caught my eye. Obviously it's new, but why in the world would they not put the Texaco logo where it belongs? I mean they pirated the rest of the Sky Chief globe design, why not the Texaco logo? Lots of other fakers are using logos without company consent or licensing, so why not repro the whole design? And for $9.62 shipping, they might as well just crush it and send it in an envelope in the first place, haha! Darin https://www.ebay.com/itm/Double-Sid...-Globe-with-Plastic-Housing/173813843554

...ugh...just a guess, but I'd say they did it to avoid paying royalties to Chevron for use of the Texaco logo, and still be 'legit'...anyone who would put that globe on a pump wouldn't care...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Exactly right. Made by Chuck Pergl, who has passed away now, when Texaco went crazy on royalties several years ago.
