Hi everyone - I've actually had an account here for a good while but only had one older thread. Love the forum! I'm very active on he Ford Truck Enthusiast forum as well as a few others. Recently I've encountered that I have an obsession with old oil cans. I started a collection in the fall and I'm up to nearly 60 cans. This is a fun hobby! I recently acquired an old Pennzoil tin quart. The odd part, to me, is that there is no color in the bell. I can't find a trace of any other can like it when running Google searches. I have seen some threads here about the dates of Pennzoil cans with different color bells, but not encompassing a bell with no color. Might anyone have thoughts on this can?

FWIW I own the "American Oil Cans" book by Tom and Susan Allen; Volume 1. There is no note in there about this can.

Thanks in advance!
Calvin

...the red paint in the bell faded, or was a printing error?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
