I'm trying to find out if this Golden west oil sign is an orginal or repop. I've read older posts on the subject, but haven't been able to find anything about this version. The mountains are baby blue, however the snow is thin and the words " made in the USA 1949" are on the bottom.

That's what's making me question the authenticity, and also the thin snow lines.

99.9% sure it's a repop, only because I don't have time to go look at mine. I am sure the mountains/water are wrong. Never dated one, no grommets (split back), never had yellow back, etc, etc....

Here is the originals and my globe. Notice the details, shading of the words "oil company". That sign you have has been scanned and the font/shadowing is not even correct, much less the mountains, water, colors, etc. If you compare, you can see how terrible and sloppy the repro is.

Here's a original with the baby blue. The one you're looking at is junk!

Appreciate everyone's help.

I don’t know much about this sign, but this one looks horrible compared to the original one Butch posted. Numerous differences. Unless they had two manufacturers, I would say this one is fake as well. However the quality on this one is so poor, I doubt it’s from another manufacturer.

I know there are at least 2 different versions of these signs with different colored mountains and backs, then some with wider borders on one side. But, there has been some in depth discussion on it. The sign picture in my above post looks like the word "oil" is squashed somewhat. But I'm not an expert by any means.
